Curious to find out what life in a Malay village is like? Try a home-stay.
Home-stays are becoming an increasingly popular activity in Malaysia, both foreigners and locals. Life in a Malay village is sometimes as alien to the country's urbanites as it is to the international visitors.
With this in mind, Tourism Malaysia, together with Kembara Travel & Tours and ANCM Creative (an events management company), invited 70 participarts from the media, entertainment and travel industries in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand to experience the village life.

Featured venue - Sungai Klah Sungkai Perak
Just as you arrived at this Home-stay situated in the middle an Oil Palm Plantation, you will be greeted by very humble folks, you will be served their homemade "Klah Juice" a drink made from the Green Guava and their desserts made of Sweet Tapioca whiich was once their staple diet during the Japanese occupation. This is one of the oldest Oil Palm plantations in the country, which was formed in 1961...
Get the chance to witness traditional ornag asli (indigenous) dance, the Sewang Dance presented by the Kampung folks living at nearby villages. Or you can also trek and visit the waterfall located at the foot of Titiwangsa Range, not far from the sungai Klah Homestay. You also get pick fresh local fruits straight from their orchards and eat till your heart content all day long!
Besides team building, there are many other exciting activities lined up for participants to the programme. Among then are a tour to the Hot-spring Recreational Park, the latest tourist attraction in the state. Other activities organized at the hot-spring include frolicking in the mountain spring pool, boiling eggs and others
participants can also indulge in activities like wildlife watching
at the Sungkai Wildlife Reserve.
